Rutland Local Crime Update for 7 days ending 11.1.20.

Oakham.

Criminal Damage overnight 8/9.1.20, to vehicle parked in Cold Overton Road, where a tyre was slashed.  This is the second time in a month (last occasion 3 tyres slashed).  If anyone has any information as to the person responsible, please pass to Oakham Police quoting 20*016729.

Theft between 1.30am-2am 1.1.20 from coat pocket in Bills Bar, 9 Melton Road.  Stolen Samsung Galaxy S9, serial number, 35346710867862*.

Rutland North Beat.

Stretton – Criminal Damage to ‘curtains’ of HGV parked overnight 6/7.1.20, at layby A1N slip road, from B668.  506 long slashes and a large hole to check contents of lorry.  Little of value in rear, nothing stolen.

Casterton – Theft between 10am 7.1 and 8am 8.1.20, in Main Street, of a fence battery and unit (Rutland Electrical Unit), valued at £300.

Rutland South Beat.

WardleyTheft of 1500 metres of BT underground cable, dug up in Leicester Road, Wardley, between 1.1 and 7.1.20.  EV £5,000.

Ketton – Burglary dwelling, at The Green, Ketton, between 1.50pm-1.55pm 9.1.20.  Occupier upstairs when heard someone call out.  She went to stairs and saw front door open (it had been closed but unlocked) and a man standing in the doorway.  He said ‘Is this the pub’’ and then hurriedly left getting in a small grey car and driving off.  This is a small cottage and patently not a pub, mans intentions likely criminal.  Nothing stolen.  Suspect: 20-30years, white, pale complexion, looked a ‘bit goofy’ with bad teeth, curly reddish hair, wearing cap, black jacket, trousers and trainers.

Please check any CCTV for information of suspect and the small grey car, with information to Police Oakham quoting crime reference 20* 016105.
