Report received of suspects posing as Police Officers making telephone contact with residents in Whissendine, stating they are making enquiries about the victims bank and fraudulent money they are issuing to customers. The suspects ask the victim to help them by going to their bank and withdrawing cash so that the police can prove the bank is issuing fraudlent money to their customers. The suspects then attend the home of the victim and collect the cash and state this is for evidence.
This is a scam, no Police Force would ask a member of the public to help them with this type of enquiry nor take cash from them. If you are contacted please inform Rutland police (info of PC 1742 Appleton) via Tel 101.
