Greetham – Attention, be alert similar tricks. Theft of charity box from Post Office/Village Shop, Main Street, approx. 12.35pm 22.6.19 (Sat). Two Asian women enter and offer to purchase a small priced item with £50 note. They cause some confusion wanting notes in change and then say it is too expensive, they go through this once more, whilst second woman checking weight of charity boxes. After they had left shopkeeper realised Air Ambulance charity box was missing. Value of contents not known.
Suspects. 1. Asian female in 50’s, slim with dark brown/black hair plaited with pink bow. Wearing black trousers with some type of patter, perhaps flowers, silver wedges, grey flowery top, carrying black cross over bag. 2. Asian Female, 30’s. 5’5”-8”, hair in bun, big hooped ear-rings; slim/medium build; wearing pink short sleeved top, grey trousers with flip flops.
Attention be alert similar tricks. Please draw to attention of all shop staff. It may be these women are targeting small shops with one attendant. If they visit your store please dial 101 and quote crime reference 19* 322716.
Little Casterton -Two separate thefts from Service Station between lunchtime 22.6 and 9.49pm 24.6.19, theft of alcohol and £17 cash.
Whissendine – Attempt distraction burglary (dwelling), Main Street, about 12 noon 24.6.19. Two men (no description) call at home of elderly lady saying they have come to read gas meter. She refused entry and they showed her a card with two mobile phone numbers on it (bogus). When refused entry became angry and insistent. Nothing stolen. Take care again may be targeting elderly who live alone.
Lady did exactly the right thing.
Cottesmore – Theft from pay and display machineat Civic Amenity site, Barley Road between 10pm 26.6 and 11.27am 27.6.19. Amount stolen not known.
Ashwell – Burglary non-dwellingfrom secure commercial unit at Oakham Enterprise Park, Ashwell Road. Forced aluminium window at read. Stolen. Nikita planer, Resip saw, multi-tool (cutting blade), SDS drill, jigsaw, 2xdouble chargers, 6 re-chargeable batteries, Milwauee 18v drill. Total value approx. £2500.

Empingham – burglary dwelling, temporary unoccupied house Main Street, between 89am 24.5. and 7pm 29.5.19. No sign forcible entry. Stolen: 10x£1 coins, variety of notes in South African Rand and Euros (approx. £200), a Cannon EOS350SD camera and zoom lens (value£700), Bushnell 10×43 Legend Ultra binoculars (£274 ladies 18ct gold watch with circular watch face gold metal link strap (approx. £500), Tanzanite bracelet being complete circle of tanzanite stones in a silver setting commonly known as tennis bracelet purchased in Cape Town (£414.65), single Opal and diamond pendant on an 18ct yellow gold chain (value £1220.00), Opal and diamond bangle in 18ct gold (£435), Opal earrings set in 18ct gold (£470). Total value approx £3500.
Ketton – Vehicle crime Barrowden Road, between 10pm 23.6. and 7.30am 24.6.19 (Sun/Mon). Two vehicles entered (no sign forced entry). Stolen from Transit van Makita twin battery drill pack (£350) and Electric drill no marking (£250-300).
Ketton – Vehicle crime, parked in street Manor Green, between 12 noon 23-6 and 9am 24.6.19 (Sun/Mon., no sign of forced entry). Silver items (coins) value £100 stolen from glove box.
Ketton – Theft from vehicle Wheatlands Close, between 11.45pm 23.6 and 8am 25.6.19 (Sun/Tues). Stolen SD card removed from Dash Cam in window. According to local Facebook entries they were asking for people to check cars as there were 3 more thefts in the Empingham Road area, two turnings away.
Seaton – Attempt theft/Damage to car door lock Main Street, approx. overnight 23/24.6.19 (Sun/Mon). Nothing stolen.
Manton – Burglary non-dwelling St Mary’s Road, between 6pm 27.6 and 6am 28.6.19 (Thur/Frid). Side door to converted outhouse smashed. Stolen: TV pulled off wall and maroon Dell laptop, identifiable because the Page Down key is missing.
Uppingham –Theft from motor vehicle, Metcalfe Crescent, between 3.30am and 5am 14.6.19 (Frid). Stolen: Makita drill, blue box, inside two black drills, two batteries, drill bit with blue electrical tape at base, also battery charger and two batteries (18v and 3 amp).
Uppingham – Theft from open church ,Market Place, about 4.35pm 19.6.19 (Wed). 3 youths stole raffle items (Easter egg and jewellery). No descriptions available
