Local Crime Update for 8 days ending 29.2.20.

Oakham Beat.

Town Centre – Theft of pedal cycle approximately 1.50pm 22.2.20 (Sat) from rear of The Captain Noel Newton Public House, 55 High Street.  Stolen, a Trek Marlin 6 model pedal cycle, black with white writing.  Suspect a white male, wearing joggers, hood up, carrying a Tesco carrier bag.  Whilst not identical The Trek 6 model is shown below.

 

North Beat.

Stretton – Theft of number plates (both) from vehicle in car park of HM Prison Stocken, Stocken Hall Road, between 7.55am and 5.35pm 23.2.20.  (Sun).  Plates numbered NX 58 YX*.

Exton – Burglary residential, between midnight 30.1. and 12 noon 21.2.20, from detached wooden garage, Burley Bushes.  Front doors forced and 4 alloy wheels for a Range Rover 4×4 (£250) and a black mountain bike (£250).

Egleton – Criminal Damage to memorial bench near St Edmunds Church, Church Road, between 5pm 26.2. and 8am 27.2.20.  Bench bolted to ground had been pulled out.  Deep tyre marks found nearby.

South Beat.

Barrowden – Vehicle crime, headlight removed from vehicle (BMW) about 4am 28.2.20 (Frid), vehicle parked in Morcott Road.  Replacement cost approx. £1000.    Noise heard and then a light-coloured pickup seen driving away.  No further details.

Uppingham Beat.

Burglary Residential – Bayley Close, about 6.45am 28.2.20 (Frid).  Entry to house by forcing backdoor to steal keys to high powered car.  Suspect seen with keys in his hand in kitchen/diner.  Exit as entry and drove off in high performance VW Golf GTi Performance TS, silver index GT18 UF*.  Suspect believed accompanied by a Land Rover Discovery which drove off at the same time.  Suspect: male wearing beanie hat with light grey hoody over top, wore black face covering with only eyes showing, dark trousers and trainers.

Nothing further appropriate.
