Local Crime Update for Rutland – 7 days ending 17.8.19.

Oakham Beat.

Oakham – Criminal Damage, Stamford Road, overnight 9/10.8.19 (Fri/Sat). Car parked on driveway found with scratch marks along length of nearside and across headlamp.

Oakham Town Centre – Theft, overnight 11/12.8.19 (Sun/Mon), 4 pre-pay parking machines broken into and cash stolen in Brooke Road, Burley Road, Church Street, and Westgate (St Anne’s Close).

North Beat.

Whitwell – Theft of canoe overnight 10/11.8.19 (Sat/Sun) from Rutland Water Sailing club, Bull Brigg Lane.  Stolen 3-person red canoe, Mobile Adventurer make, Symphony model, with ‘RCC’ stencilled  in four places in permanent marker.  Secured by padlock and chain.  Replacement value £8-1000.

Between 14.7 and 19.7.19 a second canoe, green, 2-person, was stolen from the same are (Day Sailing Centre).  ‘Old Town Discovery 158’ make,  Serial number XTC03620****known estimated value £500. Similar image shown below.

Little Casterton – Filling station, theft of £121.87 fuel, between 7am-12 noon 12.8.19 (Mon).  2 males, fat and balding with tattooed arms, filled car and drove off without paying. Silver vehicle bearing false number plates LL09 CK*.

South Beat.

Empingham – Between 4pm 8.8 and 3pm 10.8.19, theft of aviation fuel and criminal damage to aeroplane stored within private facility, (fenced and locked area) in Stamford Road.  Locks broken, fuel placed in drums and taken away.  In process of taking the fuel tens of thousands of £ damage done to the plane.

Vehicle (van?) likely to have been used.  Any visual or CCTV sightings of suspicious vehicle or behaviour during this period should be passed by tel 101 quoting Crime ref 19*424391.

Empingham – Vehicle crime, overnight 12/13.8.19, theft of approx. 200 litres diesel, by forcing fuel tank of HGV parked on lay by, A1.

Ketton – Burglary dwelling– Chapel Lane, between 12 noon 9.8 and 5.45pm 12.8.19, kitchen window forced by flat bladed instrument, believed jewellery stolen, description not yet available.

Braunston in Rutland – Vehicle crime – Knossington Lane, 4.40am 14.8.19 (Wed).  Attempt to gain entry to secure vehicle sets off alarm. Suspect seen to run to another vehicle which drove off at speed.  Nothing stolen.  Any info either visual or CCTV please pass to local Police via tel 101 quoting Crime rep 19*430686.
