Local Crime Update for Rutland – 7 days ending 27.7.19.

Oakham Beat.

Burglary non-dwelling, at accommodation building, Chapel Close Market Place, between 5.30pm 21.7 and 10pm 22.7.19 (Sun/Mon). Stolen approx. $800 (USD).

North Beat.

Langham – Theft from motor vehicle, Manor Lane, between 3pm-3.30pm 21.7.19 (Sun).  window smashed cash and bank cards stolen.

South Beat.

Tickencote – Theft of diesel fuel from lorry parked overnight (24/25.7.19 Wed/Thurs) on Great North Road.  Quantity not known.

The Good News is, that is the lowest weekly figure over the last year.

 

County Lines Drug Runners Sentenced.

The term County Lines describes gangs and organised criminal networks involved in exporting illegal drugs into other areas of the country, often small towns,using dedicated mobile phone lines or another form of ‘deal line’ which can be a person.  They are likely to exploit children or vulnerable adults to move and store the drugs and money and will often use coercion, intimidation, violence (including sexual violence) and weapons.
