Local Crime Update for Rutland – 7 days ending 28.9.19.

Oakham Beat.

Theft of motor vehicle from Norton’s garage Long Row, between 8am 21.9. and 4pm 23.9.19.  Vehicle left in locked compound for repair, keys in garage.  Stolen Ford Kuga titanium blue 4×4 TDCI Index AE14 NN*.

Rutland North Beat.

Stretton – Theft of diesel from HGV, between 10pm 20.9. and 7am 21.9.19 (Fri/Sat), driver asleep in layby A1 South, off slip to B668.  Fuel pipe ben and approx. 400 litres diesel removed.

Tickencote – Theft from HGV (Operation Barric) parked overnight 23/24.9.19 (Mon/Tues) in Tickencote Warren.  Side curtains slashed and 4 large pallets of tuna taken, value not known.

Rutland South Beat.

Hambleton – Theft from vehicle parked Bridleway (E199) between 4pm and 5pm 21.9.19 (Sat).Smash front nearside window, ladies green handbag (value £80) stolen and scratches made to front console, reason not known.  4 white youths seen approaching car on foot as driver left.    See below.

Rutland is not a high crime area, but there have been a number of this type of theft from vehicles, daytime, parked at side of road near Rutland Water/footpath, often used as a parking place for motorists going dog walking dog.You have every right to do this, but in view of these offences please take precautions remove portable items from your car, if not possible place items out of sight.   If you see youths loitering in the area on foot or in a car, please note the Reg No, drive off and find another area to walk.  Do not park on the road close to a car park simply to save money, it may turn out to be false economy.

North Luffenham – Attempt burglary, Ketton Road, between 1.40pm and 3.5pm 23.9.19.  Alarm ripped off wall.  No entry nothing stolen.  Driver of following vehicle seen acting suspiciously about 2.45pm, Nissan 4×4, index BD54 VA*.  Drove off at high speed.

Uppingham Beat.

Theft from motor vehicle in Stockerston Crescent, overnight 23/24.9.19, offside window smashed and Makita drill set stolen value approx. £500.
