A delivery company rings you to check you are in as they have a parcel for you. Within the hour a driver appears with a basket of flowers and a bottle of wine but you have no idea who it is from but a card is to follow.
The delivery man asks for £3.40 so he can prove the delivery has been made to an adult as there is alcohol involved. He can’t take cash as the transaction has to show the delivery has been made so he produces a handheld card reader. You put in your card and type in your PIN and are given a receipt. A couple of days later your account is cleaned out. Clever and effective.
Unless you know who a parcel is from, beware of unexpected deliveries and do not pay for anything you are not expecting.
