Spalding murder investigation of young woman

Update as of 29 June

We can confirm that those who died in this incident are Spalding woman Karolina Zinkeviciene (30 & pictured) and Breshnev Ruiters (34) of Winsover Road, Spalding.

Detective Inspector Andy McWatt, Senior Investigating Officer, says:

“The initial post mortem result indicates Karolina was murdered.  Her family have asked for their privacy to be respected at this exceptionally difficult time and we continue to support them.

“Breshnev Ruiters also died in this incident and although further forensic examinations are required, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with these deaths.

“We will be making no further comment until the conclusion of inquests for both of these people.”

Update, Saturday 27 June, 8.30 am:

We can update this inquiry is now a murder investigation.

Detective Inspector Andy McWatt, Senior Investigating Officer, said, “I recognise this is a deeply sad time for the family and friends of those involved and worrying for the local community.  Our investigation is in the early stages but I can update we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation.

“I will be in a position to share more information in the coming days.  I ask that the privacy of those affected by this investigation is respected.

“If anyone has concerns or information they would like to pass I ask that they get in touch.”

Two men who were arrested on suspicion of murder have now been released with no further action.

Update, 26 June:

The men arrested have been released on bail.

Update as of 1pm:

The two men were arrested on suspicion of murder, however at this time officers are keeping an open mind over what has happened.

Original release:

Officers attended a property in Winsover Road this morning at 5.32am and found the bodies of a man and a woman. Both were in their 30’s.

A 29-year old man and a 46-year-old man were also found at the property and have been arrested and taken into police custody.

Investigating officers are now working to establish what has happened and further details will be released once known.

Some traffic restrictions are in place on Winsover Road and a scene guard is in place at the property.
