Suspicious behaviour – Rural Crime Belmesthorpe.

On three separate occasions during the evenings of last week there were sightings of three young men (not the same three men) both in a vehicle and on foot, near the alpaca farm in the Castle Rise and Newstead Road area of Belmesthorpe.  On two occasions they were seen to walk up a footpath towards the farm.

On Tuesday (8.9.20) about 8.30pm, they were challenged and left the village immediately.  Those seeing the men were of the view their actions were highly suspicious.  It is not possible to say what their intended target was, whether it related to livestock, the content of barns, or other burglaries.

On two occasions the men were seen to use a white Renault vehicle NK15 NL*

If possible, remove valuable items from sheds, and if this is not possible lock or alarm them.

Please be alert for unfamiliar vehicles or small groups of unfamiliar men, particularly during the evening.  Please try to record model and number, or photograph registration plates.

Please report any sightings on tel 101 to Leicestershire Police, quoting incident number 683.  If a crime appears in progress do this by 999.
