The concept behind the Rutland App and how you can assist your rural team of police officers

“The Police are the public and the public are the Police”.
– Robert Peel.
Community policing builds better working relationships with the public – and in our case – the rural public of Leicestershire and Rutland.
The rural team here consists of officers who understand the pressures and stresses that affect our rural community.
With such a huge area to cover – we are reliant on people to have the confidence to speak to us. Equestrians. Farmers. Rural business owners. Villagers. Smallholders. Contractors. Gamekeepers. Farriers.
Our role in the community is to prevent and detect rural crime, improve Police confidence and satisfaction in the rural areas of Leicestershire and support those who live and work in Leicestershire and Rutland with any policing needs.
Taking 5 minutes out today to speak to 3 generations of a farming family was time well spent. Grandad is on the forks loading the bales. Dad and grandson on the combine.
We’re here to listen.
If you are part of a community WhatsApp group or similar where the group is aimed at highlighting suspicious activity etc – we want to hear from you.
